Fischy Music have been working regularly in schools around the UK since 1998. In the early days founder Stephen Fischbacher led workshops and concerts on his own. He was joined in 2000 by Suzanne Adam, and the benefits of working as a pair (for both performers and audience) quickly became evident. Currently, a team of five Fischy performers (see Fischy People) combine in various ways to lead a wide variety of events. |

Examples of where Fischy Music can enhance school life include:
|
As building relationships is at the heart of the Fischy ethos, spending a day in a school is generally preferable to a single assembly/concert appearance, though this can work well if children learn the songs before the visit. We also offer teacher training, which can count towards professional development for staff, and facilitate educational use of music even for those with no musical experience. |
| Emotional Literacy is becoming increasingly recognised as an important aspect of children's education. If you'd like to find out more, please visit our partner organisation The School of Emotional Literacy for helpful information and resources to improve the emotional competence of children as individuals and in groups. |
For quality music resources for younger children, we recommend our partner organisation Fischy staff are Enhanced Disclosure checked and receive training in Child Protection. |
