Board of Directors

Our Directors are a key part of our team. They are responsible for:

  • Establishing clear strategic, business and financial objectives
  • Ensuring that the organisation operates within the law and within limits set by its Deed
  • Ensuring that the organisation exercises responsibility in financial and other affairs and remains solvent
  • Monitoring and reviewing all aspects of the organisation’s performance
  • Ensuring that the organisation demonstrates best practice in all aspects of its work

Current Directors

Willie Maltman - Chairman

Willie is an accomplished leadership and management development consultant. He is a member of the Executive of the Scottish Council for Development & Industry, Immediate Past President of the Edinburgh Breakfast Rotary Club, an Ambassador for Girlguiding Scotland, and Chair of Leadership Development for Rotary International District 1020. Willie’s other interests include literature, films, drama, music (jazz, blues and soul) and encouraging the independence of his children.

Pat Hall

Pat is a retired Senior Quality Improvement Office with extensive experience in teaching and quality assurance ranging from Pre school to High School.

Lawyer Nigel has an interest in legal matters and experience of a wide variety of contractual situations.

Karen MacGregor

Head Teacher, Queensferry Primary School Karen has been a teacher in Edinburgh schools for almost 20 years and has keen interest in the development of emotional well-being. karen

Simon Jaquet

Director, Simon Jaquet Consultancy Services. Simon has worked with young people for around 30 years and has been heavily involved in music for all of his life. He can often be seen playing drums, guitar, bass or mandolin at Fischy concerts. simon

David Dewhurst - Treasurer

David is a professionally qualified accountant. Following many years within the finance department of a Merchant Bank he recently joined another charity as their full-time Finance Manager. His outside interests centre around his family including his four children and when time permits playing golf and singing in amateur opera productions, an interest inspired since being on stage with Placido Domingo in a production of Carmen at the age of 13 david1
