Anne Dodds - Administrator
Anne was brought up in Edinburgh, went to school here, and with the exception of a few years studying in Glasgow after leaving school, has lived and worked here ever since. Most of her working life to date has been spent in big insurance companies doing admin, IT development and project management. When not working she attends a lively church on the south of the city, bakes cakes at every opportunity and tries to find more time to enjoy her garden. She lives with her husband Alastair, son Ewan, and a vintage car called Dorothee.
What is the most embarrassing song in your CD or iPod collection? Well, Alastair does have a recording of motorbikes at the TT races, but luckily that’s not a song, and it’s not mine!
Where do you like singing most? I love singing, so anywhere really, but preferably not in public! Unless it’s in a big crowd.
What is your idea of musical heaven? A big crowd of people all singing/playing together, with lots of enthusiasm and passion.
What is your idea of musical hell? What you hear through the wall when someone else is having a party.
Which instrument do you wish you could play? Any! But it’s never too late. Is it?
Which instrument are you most glad that you don’t play? The bagpipes – it looks like awfully hard work.
Favourite song from primary school? When I was at primary school the Beatles were singing ‘She loves you’ but the only song I can actually remember was Val Doonican singing ‘Paddy McGinty’s Goat’!
Last song you cried to? ‘I can only imagine’ – played at a friend’s funeral last year.
Last song you danced to? Not sure of the tune, but something Scottish at a ceilidh.
Person you would most like to perform with? Don’t think I’d like to inflict that on anyone – but I would love to organise the after show party!
