Jed Milroy - Musician

Originally from Manchester, but at home in Edinburgh, I started playing guitar and singing in bands at 15, inspired by a variety of music from Oasis to Simon and Garfunkel. I’m now mostly interested in folk-influenced singer / songwriters like Jon Martyn and Bert Janch. I play in Edinburgh-based bands The Greenman Bluegrass Boys, Yeah No Totally and The Aliens (ex Beta Band); also Fence Collective projects, Lone Pigeon and Third Part; and I perform solo as Jed Milroy.

I’ve produced two self-released albums, Be Free and Travelling Songs. I studied philosophy at Edinburgh University and continue to teach environmental philosophy alongside my other passion, outdoor education. Also Managing Director of ‘Jed’s Beds’, Scotland’s most exciting loft bed manufacturer, and an avid Marvin Gaye fan.

What is the most embarrassing song in your CD or iPod collection? ‘Sexual Healing’, Marvin Gaye.

A big thank you to both yourself and Raine for all your enthusiasm and encouragement over the last four weeks. The kids have had an amazing experience and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. Would it be possible for you to email the backing track to me ? we have an open day on Friday and it would have been lovely if they closed the day with their song. Thank you again K.Marshall & P4/5
