Fischy Music grew partly out of Stephen's experiences at
St. Paul's and St. George's church in Edinburgh, where he
was a youth worker and musician for several years. The church
helped launch Fischy Music into existence, and since then
others have come on board to support the work being done
in churches and schools.
The
emphasis is now on schools work rather than church praise
events, and we feel that one of the roles of Fischy Music
is to assist in linking churches to local schools and communities,
using our implicitly Christian material to gently introduce
topics such as self-esteem, relationships, personal values
and God.
Fischy Music perform concerts, workshops and occasional
services for churches around the U.K. and beyond. There
is a team of performers who handle the large number of events
each month (see 'Fischy People' above for details), and
for bigger concerts a full band and children's singing group
also perform.
What can Fischy Music offer your church?
- A one off families/children's concert with people from
your church and/or people from other churches
- A concert sponsored by your church, based around work
done with a local primary school.
- A workshop for people working with children and music.
Learn some new songs, and the thinking behind them.
- Outreach in local schools and communities sponsored
by, and involving, your church.
All
of the above may be linked - please contact us if you'd
like to discuss your ideas for a Fischy event in your area.
