Fischy Music is working with 9 classes in 6 Fife schools over the next 5 weeks writing and recording 9 new songs with the children.
The project will culminate in a whole-school concert in each school showcasing the new songs and a CD will be made for each child taking part with the 9 new songs on it.
Our partnership with Fife YMI has been going for many years and this is our 7th consecutive year of song writing in Fife schools.
The primary schools involved are: Parkhill, Coaltown of Balgonie, Carleton, St Brides, Anstruther, Elie.
Fischy Music’s Creative Director, Stephen Fischbacher commented, “We are delighted that we can work on this fantastic project. Some of the topics we will cover will be really challenging and demonstrate some of the difficult issues that children face at the moment.”
Ruth Craib, YMI Coordinator in Fife, is equally delighted when the Fischy team come to work in Fife. “Schools find the song-writing project really worthwhile and tell us how excited and proud the pupils are when they hear their own song compositions on a CD.”
We can’t wait to get going and create some wonderful new songs with the children!
