The purpose of our training is to equip adults working with children to use Fischy songs confidently and effectively in their work. We believe everyone can sing and that singing is hugely beneficial for all ages. Our aim is that participants leave our sessions with increased knowledge and skills in using Fischy resources to support children’s education across the curriculum.

Our training sessions often take place after a school day or as part of an event. We can also provide training to a school cluster or group. Most of our training is now online training sessions, so that travel doesn't have to be an issue and people can attend via Zoom or Microsoft Teams.

February 2022 Online Training Sessions: RE & Collective Worship

It was brilliant to have over 50 people from schools and churches all over the UK (and Canada!) attend our RE & Collective Worship training sessions.

What you said about children not singing together due to lockdown is absolutely right.

I was singing with nursery and reception children recently and it hadn’t even crossed my mind that they’d never sung in a group before.

I find a lot that the pupils I work with don’t know how to wonder. They don’t know how to stop and just be. I think this is even harder due to the amounts of anxiety that people struggling with due to covid.

I’ve found that recently getting my groups to sing and sign seems to be a release and it changes the dynamics of the group. Even just playing a song changes the atmosphere.

I still put a bit of Fischy on in my car when I’m driving!"
